Responsibilities

  • Advise staff on legal matters and interpret laws, regulations, and policies
  • Advise county and district attorneys on legal matters
  • Provide agency representation in court and handle trials for most cases
  • Prepare cases for trial and supervise trial proceedings
  • Deliver legal training to agency staff and the legal community
  • Coordinate specialized legal efforts with subject matter experts
  • Prepare or supervise legal opinions, briefs, pleadings, and reports
  • Assist in establishing and coordinating office systems
  • Promote respect for cultural diversity
  • Attend work regularly as per leave policy
