As Country Manager for Sweden, you lead the Risk Engineering team to strengthen service delivery and strategic alignment with Zurich Nordic goals. You will drive the Swedish unit’s performance, shape advisory offerings, and support Zurich’s resilience mission. Acting as the face of the unit, you’ll coach engineers, foster a learning culture, and steer account engineering for new business and renewals. This role blends leadership with hands-on risk expertise in a Nordic, multi-location environment.

Responsibilities

Lead a ~8-person Risk Engineering team in Sweden with P&L responsibility
Be the unit’s internal and external face, contributing to leadership and market reputation
Coach and develop team to become trusted customer advisors
Drive ZRS transformation toward fee-based consulting in Property, Construction, Marine, Cyber, and Liability
Balance 50% management with 50% client-facing activities (account/field engineering)
Ensure technical competence aligns with business needs
Oversee Swedish activities for multiple business lines under ZRS
Plan market-awareness initiatives and oversee service delivery workflows for underwriting needs
Maintain high customer service standards and support workforce development

Key requirements

Bachelor’s or Master in engineering or risk management & safety engineering
Deep understanding and experience in risk engineering or risk management
Proven leadership with ability to inspire and motivate teams
Experience in non-life commercial insurance
Strong written and spoken English and Swedish
Ability to lead across locations and cultures
Strategic planning and strong problem-solving abilities
Excellent presentation skills
Open mindset to drive culture change
Strong relationship-building capabilities
