In this role you will lead and optimize the materials management and supply chain across AHMC facilities, shaping procurement, storage, distribution, and forecasting to support patient care. You will partner with facility leadership to align with business goals, implement standardization, and ensure compliance with Joint Commission and regulatory standards. You will drive cost containment, supplier performance, and data-driven decisions to improve supply chain efficiency and patient outcomes. This is a strategic, cross-functional leadership role with a clear impact on hospital operations and fiscal performance. You will engage with executives to guide capital and operating expenditure plans.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain policies for purchasing, receiving, warehousing, and distribution
Oversee evaluation, procurement, storage, distribution, and forecasting of supplies and equipment
Set long/short-term goals for operations aligned with business strategy
Standardize products and equipment across the organization
Maintain knowledge of GPO programs and oversee GPO contracts coordination
Manage contract lifecycle including regular reviews
Negotiate supplier costs to balance budget, quality, and sustainability
Lead demand and supply planning, including forecasting and supplier auditing
Ensure procurement practices use appropriate contracts and cost tiers
Support budgeting for supply and equipment purchases and cost containment systems
Ensure data accuracy via interfaces with Finance/GL Accounting
Collaborate with hospital leadership to reduce expenditures and improve efficiencies
Maintain compliance with policies, laws, and Joint Commission/CDPH regulations
Provide leadership and guidance on projects, and inform superiors of risks and issues
Communicate ethics and code of conduct adherence and maintain confidentiality

Key requirements

Five+ years of leadership experience in Materials Management/Supply Chain in acute care healthcare
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or related field
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to act independently and handle complex situations
Proven multitasking and prioritization abilities
Knowledge of healthcare-related laws and regulations
HIPAA/privacy regulation knowledge and compliance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Effective stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
Strong critical thinking, planning, organization, and team leadership abilities
