Experteer Overview
In this role you will lead financial reporting and compliance for Astronics CSC in Waukegan, guiding the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes. You will ensure accurate revenue recognition under US GAAP, develop and enforce accounting policies, and strengthen internal controls across business units. You’ll collaborate with external auditors and mentor the finance team to deliver high-quality analyses and timely insights. Responsibilities
- Review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements
- Determine revenue recognition timing and method under US GAAP for contracts
- Analyze accounting standards and prepare whitepapers on technical matters
- Develop, implement, and review accounting policies and procedures
- Establish and maintain consistent internal controls across SBUs
- Collaborate with external auditors
- Review monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations
- Supervise the Waukegan and Armstrong Finance teams and manage day-to-day finance activities
- Assist with group special projects and ensure ethical and legal compliance
Key requirements
- CPA designation
- 3+ years of audit experience
- Minimum 5+ years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of budget preparation and analysis techniques
- Management experience with training and developing teams
- Critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
