Responsibilities

Direct the monthly and annual close process with accurate entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Oversee general ledger integrity, reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution
Strengthen accounting procedures and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance
Contribute to annual budget development, forecasting, and cash planning for programs and strategic initiatives
Administer grant and contract financial activity including restricted funds tracking, reimbursements, billing support, and drawdown reconciliation
Lead audit preparation, organize schedules and records, and liaise with external auditors and oversight agencies
Supervise and develop accounting staff and collaborate with other departments to support organizational goals

Key requirements

Bachelor’s degree with Accounting or Finance concentration
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Nonprofit accounting and grant/contract accounting experience preferred
3+ years of supervisory experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
CPA designation preferred
