In this role you will lead the finance function for a growing nonprofit, shaping financial strategy and ensuring rigorous oversight. You will work directly with the CFO, influence organizational decisions, and drive process improvements through automation and AI. You’ll manage accounting, reporting, audits, and budgeting while mentoring a finance team and partnering with cross-functional leaders. Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting, financial reporting, treasury, cash management, and internal controls
- Lead the annual external audit process and nonprofit/grant reporting
- Oversee Form 990 coordination and financial compliance
- Support organization-wide budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Present financial information and recommendations to executive leadership and Board committees
- Lead, mentor, and develop a finance organization with a focus on continuous improvement
- Drive technology, automation, and AI initiatives to improve efficiency and reporting
- Partner cross-functionally to support strategic business decisions and organizational growth
Key requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
- Strong nonprofit accounting experience, including Form 990 exposure
- Experience leading external audits, grant reporting, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Passion for process improvement, automation, and leveraging AI within finance
- CPA and/or public accounting background highly preferred
