In this Compliance Partner role, you will own employee relations and compliance across Manychat, acting as the primary risk owner for people-related legal matters. You’ll lead investigations, guide managers, and coordinate with HR and Legal to ensure defensible, compliant decisions. You’ll support the company during international expansion by shaping policies and playbooks that reduce risk. This senior, individual-contributor position offers a hands-on path to mitigate complex compliance challenges while partnering with leadership to protect the business.

Responsibilities
- Own and manage all compliance cases (harassment, discrimination, retaliation, complaints, misconduct).
- Lead investigations with People Partners ensuring fairness and legal soundness.
- Define investigation plans, conduct interviews, document outcomes, recommend actions.
- Advise on complex employee relations situations.
- Assess termination risk and determine escalation to Legal or external counsel.
- Lead involuntary terminations to minimize legal and reputational risk.
- Coordinate with HRA on local employment law and with Total Rewards on severance/benefits.
- Document properly and ensure consistency across cases.
- Develop and improve key people policies (Code of Conduct, Anti-Harassment, Disciplinary, Termination, Complaints).
- Translate policies into practical playbooks for managers and partners.
- Review policies regularly to identify gaps and risks.
- Identify early signals of compliance risks using data from surveys and interviews.
- Build risk overviews and share insights with People Leadership.
- Enable People Partners with guidance on compliance and escalation; train managers on compliant practices.
- Navigate multi-region employment law and coordinate with external counsel when needed.
- Help define global compliance principles with local adaptations.
Key requirements
- Experience partnering with Legal teams or acting as a legal liaison on people matters.
- Ability to assess legal exposure and articulate risk trade-offs to leaders.
- Proven experience handling employee relations and compliance in an international environment.
- Strong understanding of employment law and ability to adapt to new jurisdictions.
- Hands-on experience leading investigations and involuntary terminations.
- Ability to balance legal risk, fairness, and business needs.
- High discretion, judgment, and integrity; strong communication with senior leaders.
- Independent work style and capability to own complex topics end-to-end.
- Experience collaborating with HR, People Partners, Legal, and leadership.
- Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.
