In this role you drive commercial rigor in tender negotiations and contract management to protect Fluence’s financial performance. You will partner with sales, engineering, and legal to shape financially sound deals across multiple markets, manage risks and warranties, and support financing solutions. The role sits within the Rest of the World Finance Team and offers broad exposure to cross-functional, high-stakes negotiations. You help translate strategy into executable, compliant contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Support tender negotiations with sales and engineering to secure mutually beneficial terms
  • Participate in project risk reviews, T&C reviews, and negotiations
  • Set standards for processes across Deal Teams and Services teams
  • Continuously review and improve transactional risk management and compliance
  • Assess project risks, milestones, and T&C implications for financials
  • Shape risks and opportunities in contractual negotiations for sound deal outcomes
  • Analyse tender documents and support offer submissions with legal
  • Coordinate commercial/financial risks with legal and sales engineering
  • Evaluate offers for commercial/administrative conditions; input into Capex/Opex planning
  • Manage securities and guarantees with EMEA Treasury; support financing with banks
  • Coordinate tax, customs, logistics, and insurance with EMEA Tax
  • Manage forex risks during tender and offer stages; forecast order entries, margins, cash flow, revenue recognition
  • Foster lessons learned culture from past bids to improve future bids
  • Ensure a smooth handover to project execution with proper approvals

Key requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration
  • 6-10 years of experience in commercial contract management, preferably in the energy sector
  • Strong understanding of project cashflows, milestones, and T&C application
  • Attention to detail with problem-solving skills and change-driving ability
  • Commercial experience in contract negotiation and cross-functional stakeholder alignment
  • Excellent English communication; German language helpful for German markets
  • Entrepreneurial drive, ownership mindset, proactive opportunity pursuit
