As HIM Coding Quality Reviewer & Educator, you ensure the accuracy and integrity of coding practices within the HIM department. You review clinical documentation, coding, and billing to meet national standards and payer guidelines, and you train staff on up-to-date coding guidelines to boost performance and revenue cycle efficiency. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to support compliant, high-quality coding. Responsibilities

Ensure accuracy, integrity, and quality of coding practices within the HIM department
Conduct thorough reviews of clinical documentation, coding, and billing processes
Ensure compliance with national coding standards, payer requirements, and regulatory guidelines
Educate and train coding staff on best practices and updates in coding guidelines to enhance performance and revenue cycle efficiency

Key requirements

3 years experience required; 6-10 years preferred
Proficiency in coding inpatient accounts, ICD-10, PCS coding and/or complex outpatient coding (Observation, Radiation Oncology, Chemotherapy Infusion, Surgery, Cardiology Cath, EP, Interventional Radiology)
Nursing experience a plus
Licensure/Certification: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CIC, COC, CPC, CCA, CCC, CIRCC, CCVTC or core AHIMA/AAPC credentials
