In this role you drive client relationships and business growth for a Colorado Springs land development practice. You own projects from pursuit through closeout, coordinating with production teams and leveraging market insights to win opportunities. You’ll lead proposals, manage budgets and schedules, and mentor staff while shaping the firm’s client-centric growth in the region. This is a high-impact position for a seasoned civil engineer who thrives on leadership, strategy, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients and production teams across the full project lifecycle
  • Develop and maintain relationships with public and private clients, partners, and vendors
  • Support client retention by ensuring satisfaction and identifying future opportunities
  • Represent the Land Development group in marketing, planning, and business development discussions
  • Prepare engineering proposals including scope, fee, subconsultant coordination, schedules, and contracts
  • Guide project execution to meet scope, standards, schedules, and quality
  • Manage client expectations and resolve scope changes, budget impacts, and schedule shifts
  • Prepare, negotiate, and issue change orders for additional services
  • Collaborate with the Project Accountant on accurate invoicing and collections
  • Mentor mid- to senior-level engineers and stay current with industry trends and regulations
  • Review and sign/seal engineering plans developed under your direction

Key requirements

  • 10+ years of civil engineering experience with a focus on land development
  • Valid Colorado PE License
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Proven experience managing client relationships across the full project lifecycle
  • Experience preparing engineering proposals—scope, fee development, subconsultant coordination, and contracts
  • Ability to manage project budgets, schedules, change orders, and accounts receivable
  • Business development experience—identifying opportunities, pursuing new clients, and growing existing relationships
