In this executive role, you drive the strategic direction and operational excellence of BHM and its Centers of Excellence. You partner with the CEO and executive team to translate vision into actionable plans, lead major hospital-wide initiatives, and ensure efficient, safe patient care across multiple departments. You will balance long-range financial planning with day-to-day operations, shaping performance, culture, and talent development. You will be the bridge between clinical staff, administration, and external partners to deliver patient-centered growth.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership to accelerate hospital performance and execute enterprise-wide initiatives
Oversee operating and capital budgets, long-range financial planning, and FTE management
Manage surgical services, imaging, facilities, life safety, and security to ensure safe, compliant operations
Lead master planning for campus expansion and construction projects while coordinating with Strategic Planning and external consultants
Collaborate with institute VPs to align hospital-based strategic needs and improve integration across service lines
Act as liaison to physicians, oversee robotic surgery contracting, and participate in system-wide clinical and technology initiatives
Drive talent development, culture, and leadership succession across facilities and programs
Represent the organization to the Board, committees, and philanthropic partners while maintaining regulatory and accreditation standards

Key requirements

10 years of healthcare experience with the last 3–5 years at VP level
experience managing one or more business lines with broad knowledge in operations, finance, project management, quality and clinical care
ability to work with flexible hours including late evening meetings
strong leadership, strategic thinking, and change management skills
experience with large-scale capital projects and master planning
familiarity with Epic EMR and PACS systems (explicit in description)
