Responsibilities
- Monitor accounts receivable and oversee cash collection processes to meet targets
- Lead weekly A/R reviews with CEO and Business Office Manager, communicating results and weaknesses
- Align Business Office, Intake, and Utilization Review to maximize patient revenue
- Improve hospital profitability by monitoring costs, staffing relative to patient volume, and payor mix
- Assist in contract negotiations with third-party payers and prepare pro-forma analyses for new programs/contracts
- Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures per GAAP and corporate guidelines
- Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and internal control-driven reports
- Provide required reporting and reconciliations to Reimbursement, Tax, Auditors, etc.
- Prepare annual budgets with management, highlighting future needs and trends
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Tailor financial planning to UHS objectives and hospital needs
Key requirements
- Minimum 5 years of financial leadership experience in healthcare
- Bachelor degree required; master's degree preferred
- Solid knowledge of hospital financial operations, tax regulations, and business office processes
- Strong ability to interpret financial performance data and prepare schedules/reports
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and handling data in proprietary and acquired databases
- Travel 2%
