In this role you lead financial strategy and operations at Berkley Oil & Gas, guiding accounting, reporting, planning, and controls. You partner with the President and SLT to optimize outcomes, reduce costs, and ensure regulatory compliance. You drive timely, accurate financial insight and automation to support scalable growth. Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting, financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting across the organization
- Lead monthly reporting processes and ensure timely, accurate management information
- Manage expense control and general ledger activities to align with budgets and objectives
- Drive internal controls, GAAP and regulatory compliance for financial and tax reporting
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process automation to improve efficiency
- Develop and mentor direct reports and support career growth
- Provide strategic finance guidance to executive leadership and operate as SLT member
- Support corporate accounting/reporting requirements and cross-functional collaboration
Key requirements
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience
- P&C insurance experience with Statutory and GAAP reporting
- Proficiency in Windows environments and strong knowledge of financial systems (preferably Oracle and PeopleSoft)
- Strong financial planning, reporting, and analysis capabilities
- Experience with direct and indirect reporting structures and multi-project management
- Ability to interact with all organizational levels and travel as needed
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance
- MBA and/or CPA desirable
- 3 direct reports management experience
