As Chief Financial Officer in CLA’s CAAS group, you lead the client’s financial strategy as part of the accounting services team. You drive capital planning, KPI analysis, and board interactions while shaping financial policy and long-term budgeting. You work closely with clients to add value and implement best practices that enhance their financial management. This role blends client leadership with strategic finance to support growth for retail or restaurant clients across multiple offices. You’ll engage with cross-functional teams and act as a thought partner on finance and operations, offering meaningful impact and opportunities for career growth.

Responsibilities

Perform CFO functions as part of the client’s accounting services team
Identify and implement best practices to add client value
Set financial policy and drive overall strategy with clients
Lead capital planning, KPI analysis, and board interactions
Oversee budgeting, cash flow management, and forecasting
Coordinate audit activities
Manage multiple client engagements efficiently
Build and maintain strong client relationships and serve as a key management team member
Develop external network and thought leadership in the service and industry

Key requirements

8 years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience
Retail or restaurant industry experience preferred
Knowledge of QuickBooks preferred
Project management and client management experience preferred but not required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA certification preferred but not required
Willingness to travel locally and occasionally non-local/overnight for client visits
