As Chief Executive Officer, West Region, you drive the performance of multiple markets across clinical and business functions within Optum Health. Responsibilities

Create and implement the West region's strategic and operating plan
Manage regional financials including capital and operating budgets
Lead the region toward quadruple aim: quality outcomes, cost reduction, patient experience, and provider wellbeing
Drive growth through acquisitions, partnerships, recruitment, and new contracting models
Collaborate with national function owners and regional leaders to optimize operations, data analytics, and best practices
Align regional operations to adopt technology and centralized workflows where appropriate
Advance clinical quality, service, and medical cost improvements in partnership with clinical leadership
Evolve regional structure and operating model to maximize brand impact and growth
Communicate and execute regional plans in alignment with national strategy
Foster a physician-led, patient-centric culture and ensure provider wellbeing
Recruit and develop diverse leadership and succession pipelines
Shape strategic marketing and external relations plans
Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies

Key requirements

15+ years of progressive healthcare leadership experience with business and clinical operations and patient satisfaction
10+ years negotiating with institutions/providers and payers
10+ years operating in a complex matrix environment
Large scale P&L responsibility (>$16B revenue)
Experience across managed care and fee-for-service models with risk-bearing entities
Ability to travel 25–50%

strong leadership and strategic thinking transformational change leadership collaborative and influential with stakeholders operational and clinical understanding of healthcare delivery reimbursement models from FFS to risk-based cost, quality, patient and provider satisfaction levers
