Experteer Overview

As CEO, you will lead NGNRI’s mission to enable transformative discovery in NF1 and neurological diseases. You will shape a world-class, entrepreneurial research environment while representing the organization externally and building strategic partnerships and funding. You will oversee governance, communications, and operations in collaboration with the CSO and COO, ensuring ethical, compliant execution. You’ll drive biomedical innovation from discovery to development and steer a diverse, mission-driven team. This is a high-impact leadership role at a nonprofit research institute with strong scholarly and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Build and promote NGNRI’s organizational presence and governance
  • Establish and lead NGNRI management team and governance structures
  • Develop internal and external communications, outreach, and public relations
  • Foster relationships with City/State officials and regional stakeholders
  • Create programs with the CSO to engage NF1 and broader scientific communities
  • Collaborate with the COO to oversee administrative operations
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and high ethical standards
  • Seek and secure funding from philanthropic sources and national agencies
  • Develop partnerships and alliances to advance NF1 and neurological research agendas
  • Represent NGNRI as the primary external ambassador and build strategic networks

Key requirements

  • Experience leading a biomedical or research-driven organization (CEO/CSO/Managing Director level preferred)
  • Proven ability to attract talent and build high-performing teams
  • Track record in drug discovery through preclinical development and biomedical product development
  • Strong strategic, financial, and operational leadership in a nonprofit or research setting
  • Excellent communication, diplomacy, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to navigate regulatory and compliance requirements
  • PhD in a biomedical discipline, or MBA; if MBA, companion biomedical background preferred
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with ethical standards and resilience
