As Chief Development Officer, you will lead West End House’s fundraising and donor engagement to fuel a bold growth strategy. You will steward major gifts, campaigns, and communications, ensuring a cohesive donor experience and strong internal collaboration. You’ll shape a multi-year fundraising plan aligned with the Future Ready 125 initiative and the organization’s mission to empower youth through education, arts, leadership, and health. Responsibilities
- Set fundraising goals and strategies with the CEO aligned to strategic vision
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward donor relationships to meet annual targets
- Maintain a comprehensive donor database to support pipeline development
- Lead the emerging comprehensive campaign and broaden major donor support
- Oversee marketing and communications to highlight program impact
- Supervise grant development and report outcomes to funders
- Build pathways that convert volunteer engagement into philanthropy
- Plan and execute the annual fundraising event
- Mentor and manage the development team and track performance metrics
- Manage the development department budget and promote philanthropy across the organization
- Partner with CPO and COO on organizational strategy and fundraising budgeting
- Engage Board and senior leadership in fundraising activities and committees
- Stay current on fundraising trends through professional networks
Key requirements
- 10+ years in development/fundraising
- 5+ years in a senior leadership role
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced nonprofit degree encouraged
- Proven success in major gifts and campaigns
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Strong knowledge of fundraising, moves management, and donor relations
- Experience with donor data systems and fundraising metrics
- Volunteer and board management experience a plus
- Willingness to travel
