Experteer Overview

In this role you will lead SiriusPoint’s accounting and financial reporting, ensuring GAAP/IFRS compliance and robust internal controls. You will partner with executive leadership to support strategic objectives and uphold regulatory standards across SEC and other bodies. You will shape financial processes, drive continuous improvement, and oversee external audits in a high-growth, global insurance/financial services environment. This is a senior, hands-on role for a capital-backed company committed to excellence and integrity.

Responsibilities

Oversee preparation and submission of financial statements under GAAP/IFRS
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closes with high accuracy
Ensure regulatory compliance (SEC, NAIC, others) and stay updated on changes
Develop and maintain internal controls; conduct audits to mitigate risks
Provide financial analysis, forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses to senior management
Coordinate with external auditors and address audit findings
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures
Communicate financial reporting and compliance to regulators, investors, and leadership
Improve accounting processes and leverage technology to boost efficiency
Maintain and enhance financial systems in collaboration with IT
Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts and accuracy of reports
Support budget preparation and performance monitoring
Lead, train, and develop the accounting team
Foster a collaborative, high-performance department culture

Key requirements

15+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
Minimum 5 years in a senior accounting leadership role at a publicly traded company
Experience in the insurance or financial services industry
Bachelor's in accounting or finance; MBA preferred
Active CPA license
Extensive SEC reporting, SOX compliance, and complex GAAP accounting experience
Proven ability to lead and scale an accounting function in a dynamic, high-growth environment
Strong knowledge of financial software, systems, and data analytics
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with executives and external auditors
