In this role you support the Sr. Hydrogeologist and Project Manager within the Water Management Team to advance a world-class underground asset from pre-feasibility to operation. You manage hydrogeology drilling, conduct testing, and communicate dewatering status across departments, contributing to safe, sustainable mine development. You will work with cross-functional teams to optimize water management, monitoring, and data analysis. This is a hands-on, impact-oriented position at a major mining operation in the Carlin District.

Responsibilities
- Plan, design, budget, and oversee hydrogeology drilling and construction
- Perform hydrogeologic testing on drill holes and wells (pump, injection, slug, packer, airlift)
- Assist with interpretation of hydrogeologic tests
- Coordinate with Mine Planning for drilling goals
- Provide hydrogeological guidance to Mine Operations and Mine Planning
- Install, operate, and maintain hydrogeology monitoring equipment
- Collect and analyze monitoring data
- Drill core logging for select holes
- Supervise drillers and subcontractors incl. invoice review and approval
- Possibly work unconventional hours due to drilling activities
- Update and maintain hydrogeologic database
Key requirements
- Bachelor in Hydrogeology, Geology, or Civil Engineering (or similar)
- Two years mining industry experience preferred
- Advanced technical communications and presentations skills
- Ability to operate independently and in small multi-disciplinary teams
- Familiarity with drill rigs and hydrogeology instrumentation preferred
- Excellent computer skills including MS Office, LeapFrog, Deswik, Vulcan, GIS (preferred)
- Demonstrated safety leadership
- Project management skills preferred
