Responsibilities

Direct the daily activities of radiology staff
Recruit, train, coach, evaluate, and, if needed, discipline staff
Develop and revise departmental objectives, policies, procedures, and standards
Prepare and manage department budgets and ensure spending stays within limits
Coordinate staffing coverage to maintain safe, cost-effective operations
Collaborate with other departments and external parties to ensure quality patient care
Monitor regulatory compliance and initiate corrective actions as needed
Investigate and resolve issues in diagnostic operations
Participate in hospital committees or task forces and attend meetings
Prepare departmental reports and facilitate staff meetings and in-service programs

Key requirements

Healthcare certification from a national accrediting body (e.g., respiratory therapy or radiologic technology)
Minimum 3 years of hospital experience in a relevant clinical discipline
Minimum 1 year in a lead or leadership role
Lean/Six Sigma project experience preferred
High school diploma plus graduation from an accredited radiology program or a Bachelor's degree in Radiology or a healthcare-related field
