Join AWS Data Center Technical Services to design, develop, and operate the capacity management solutions for the physical layer in global data centers. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to route and optimize the fiber, copper, and power infrastructure, balancing performance and cost. This role leads design delivery, risk mitigation, and New Product Introduction activities—impacting reliability and efficiency at scale. You will engage with suppliers and on-site teams, travel to data centers, and own projects from concept to deployment. You’ll work in an inclusive, fast-moving environment that values bold ideas and tangible impact.

Responsibilities
- Deliver scalable fiber optic and copper plant designs on time
- Develop automated routing and utilization solutions for the physical layer
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet capacity and network requirements and enable timely turn-ups
- Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly
- Support New Product Introduction to improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost and installation time
- Travel 20+% for project reviews and onsite coordination with personnel and contractors at AWS data centers
Key requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience turning new design concepts into deployment or mass production
- Experience with MS Excel, MS Word, and Windows Operating Systems
- Experience with power management and power monitoring systems
Strong collaboration and cross-functional communicationProactive problem solving and risk managementAdaptability in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environmentKnowledge of critical data center equipmentEngineering documentation, electrical diagrams, and SOPsAbility to read and interpret construction specifications and drawings
