Stantec seeks a Business Development Professional to drive growth within the Mission Critical sector. You will cultivate and expand client relationships, identify strategic projects, and shape pursuit strategies across the US West region. Collaborating with Mission Critical leadership, you translate client needs into effective business development plans and marketing materials. The role offers cross-functional exposure in a sustainability-focused firm and a chance to diversify the client base and influence major projects. You will contribute to expanding Stantec’s footprint in critical infrastructure and data-center domains.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Mission Critical industry relationships and visibility with current and prospective clients, sub consultants, partners and potential recruits
- Identify major/strategic/transformational projects with top clients/prospects on a 1–3 year horizon
- Understand procurement, market trends and business outlook within the Mission Critical sector
- Identify cross-selling opportunities
- Perform client needs assessments in coordination with Sector/Regional leadership for clients within the Account Management program
- Translate client/business needs into effective business development strategies and corresponding marketing collateral and selling material
- Meet and build relationships with targeted clients to introduce Stantec and increase exposure for program and project pursuits
- Develop and/or assist in defining overall team project pursuit plan win strategy
Key requirements
- Extensive Business Development experience with a large volume organization
- Deep understanding of market assessment techniques, insights, and contacts
- Proven success in developing new clients and maintaining strong client relationships
- Intimate knowledge of Mission Critical sector trends and industry leaders
- Extensive experience in responding to Requests for Proposals, Expression of Interests, Statement of Qualifications
- Strong business development skills, including significant experience building and maintaining productive relationships with a client base (experience within a consulting organization is a strong asset)
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, marketing or related field; Minimum of 10 years of experience
