Senior Specialist / Project Manager

Experteer Overview

In this role you will support FDOT leadership and HNTB in delivering emerging aviation initiatives (AAM, UAS) across Florida. You will help coordinate projects, prepare executive communications, and facilitate stakeholder engagement with government, industry, airports, and academia. You will drive planning, research, and implementation efforts, including demonstrations and workshops, to advance transportation innovation. This position offers cross-functional impact, working closely with leadership to align strategic priorities and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Support coordination and execution of emerging aviation and transportation initiatives for FDOT leadership
  • Develop briefings, reports, and executive-level presentations
  • Coordinate with government agencies, industry partners, airports, academia, and technology providers
  • Assist with project planning, stakeholder engagement, workshops, demonstrations, and events
  • Track program schedules, action items, deliverables, and strategic priorities
  • Support research, policy analysis, funding opportunities, and implementation planning related to aviation innovation
  • Lead preparation of maps, exhibits, and presentation materials
  • Participate in public process and stakeholder facilitation

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, or related field and 4 years related professional experience, or Master’s Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, or related field and 3 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient at using software specific to planning jobs; assists in increasing software proficiency of junior staff
  • Ability to analyze data, draft reports, and present findings
