As an Automation Engineer you will maximize equipment reliability and operational performance in fulfillment centers by providing proactive controls automation and technical support. You’ll troubleshoot complex control systems, analyze performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement for MHE systems. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement innovative automation projects using conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, and SCADA devices. This role offers the chance to impact delivery speed and accuracy through state-of-the-art technology and robust maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

Serve as the site expert for maintaining critical automation systems
Understand, maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems (PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks)
Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations to address performance issues
Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians (local and remote)
Perform and analyze building System Assessments to enhance material handling system performance

Key requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 2+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience
Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
2+ years of process or production environment related PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis experience
2+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience
2+ years of electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment experience
2+ years of Ladder Logic and structured programming from Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs experience
