In this role you will partner with Holman Growth Ventures and operational teams to guide strategic investments, structuring and negotiating contracts, and enabling portfolio company initiatives. You will manage complex legal matters across businesses, including HR policy support, data privacy, and risk management, while providing practical counsel to drive enterprise results. You will coordinate with outside counsel and scale legal processes as Holman grows. This is a values-driven, collaborative opportunity to shape legal strategy in a global automotive services organization.

Responsibilities

Partner with Holman Growth Ventures on strategic initiatives and investment transactions, including Corporate Venture Capital work
Draft and negotiate definitive contracts to commercialize portfolio company offerings with Growth Ventures and Businesses
Support development of new products, services, alliances, and transactions
Support policy development and implementation and general employment matters (including immigration) with Human Resources
Manage litigation, investigations, and administrative proceedings for assigned Businesses
Support legal compliance, with emphasis on data security and data privacy
Provide practical legal advice to understand the Businesses and enable results
Advise on routine and complex legal questions independently with colleagues and outside counsel
Identify and mitigate material risk and support enterprise risk management
Establish and develop relationships with outside counsel and global legal relationships
Assist the Vice President & General Counsel on other matters when requested

Key requirements

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited university
Bar admission in at least one state (NJ in-house license if not admitted there)
4–6 years in a law firm (250+ lawyers) handling M&A, financings, joint ventures, investment transactions, and complex contracts
In-house counsel or external counsel experience with B2B contract services; SaaS contracts and client services contracts preferred
Experience with contracts, commercial matters, compliance, litigation management; IP/licensing a plus; bankruptcy/secured transactions interest a plus
Excellent analytical, communication, legal research, and writing skills
Strong Microsoft Office proficiency; fast, accurate typist; comfort with SaaS apps
