In this role you will support public entities on complex state and federal litigation related to eminent domain and land acquisition. You will collaborate with a team of litigators across California offices to prepare for trial, craft motions, and build litigation strategy. The position offers high-stakes exposure to infrastructure projects and a pathway to grow within a respected California firm. This is a hands-on role with hybrid work and opportunities to elevate the firm’s reputation through impactful public-entity litigation.

Responsibilities

Represent public entities in eminent domain, real estate, and land acquisition litigation
Handle high-impact litigation related to public infrastructure projects
Draft pleadings, briefs, and dispositive motions
Engage in substantive law and motion practice
Build cases for trial including evidence development and strategy
Interview witnesses and take/defend depositions
Conduct legal research and prepare well-reasoned writing
Collaborate with colleagues in a team-oriented environment

Key requirements

J.D. from an accredited law school
Active California Bar admission in good standing
3–7 years of litigation experience
Experience in eminent domain, real estate, or public entity land acquisition litigation
Substantive law and motion experience including dispositive motions
Experience preparing cases for trial including evidence development and deposition practice
Excellent academic credentials
Strong analytical, written, and research skills
Proven ability to work in teams and contribute to firm culture
Strong work ethic and interest in elevating the firm’s reputation and brand
