In this role you will assess municipal securities within a global fixed income research framework, partnering with analysts, portfolio managers, and investment specialists to inform investment opportunities. You will produce buy/sell recommendations and credit reports, conduct issuer due diligence, and monitor market trends. You will engage with issuers, bankers, and rating agencies to refine insights and influence portfolio decisions. This position offers impact across municipal fixed income and collaboration with a world-class research team.

Responsibilities

Provide buy/sell recommendations and credit reports for municipal securities
Perform independent issuer credit risk assessment to identify relative value
Conduct pre- and post-issuance due diligence, engaging issuers and bankers and visiting sites
Monitor market themes and sector trends
Communicate investment recommendations and market themes to PMs, stakeholders, and clients
Develop and maintain relationships with investment bankers, broker-dealers, rating agencies, and legal professionals

Key requirements

Minimum of 10 years of credit analysis experience
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Ability to evaluate municipal issuer credit risk, determine relative value, and communicate under tight time constraints
Working knowledge of municipal market technicals and identifying market opportunities
Proficient accounting and financial analysis with cash flow modeling and GAAP/GASB knowledge
Ability to read and evaluate complex bond documents with attention to detail
Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills; team-oriented
Experience with common business software packages
