As Android Tech Lead, you will steer the Android platform strategy across multiple squads and mentor the Android chapter. You’ll shape architecture, standards, and best practices to deliver consistent, high-quality experiences in a fast-growing e-commerce environment. You’ll collaborate with product and engineering leaders to align technical choices with business goals and foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. This role offers impact at scale, influencing how users engage with our Android apps across products. You’ll be at the heart of innovation, driving performance and reliability for a diverse set of Android initiatives.

Responsibilities

Lead the Android Chapter with mentorship across squads
Define the Android technical strategy, architecture patterns, and roadmap
Set and maintain coding standards, best practices, and guidelines
Champion architectural decisions and ensure cross-project consistency
Facilitate knowledge sharing via talks, workshops, and documentation
Collaborate with PMs and managers to align tech decisions with business goals
Coordinate code reviews to ensure high-quality code
Promote adoption of new technologies and ecosystem improvements
Monitor and improve performance, stability, and UX across Android products
Lead platform-level technical discussions and decision processes
Ensure CI/CD processes are optimized and followed
Foster innovation and prototype new features
Support recruitment by evaluating candidates and defining hiring standards
Serve as the primary point of contact for Android-related technical matters

Key requirements

7+ years building Android apps
2+ years in a technical leadership or chapter lead role
Deep Kotlin expertise and strong Java understanding
Experience architecting and scaling Android apps in complex environments
Strong experience with modern Android architecture components
Advanced knowledge of dependency injection frameworks
Expert knowledge of Android Studio, Android SDK, and Android ecosystem
Proven ability to implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines
Experience with reactive programming
Strong unit and UI testing skills and ability to define testing strategies
Mentoring, coaching, and inspiring developers across levels
Excellent leadership and people management in cross-functional settings
Strong communication and collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to influence decisions across multiple teams
Fluent in English (written and verbal)
