As Analyst in Underwriting & Portfolio Management, you help underwrite new CRE transactions and manage the existing loan portfolio. You work with cross-functional partners to assess risks, build financial analyses, and contribute to credit documents and closing processes. You escalate trends, support deal review, and mentor rotational analysts, shaping the portfolio's risk profile and performance. This role offers exposure to real estate financing, credit risk management, and internal initiatives aimed at well-managed, scalable CRE growth.

Responsibilities

  • Perform due diligence on industry and company performance and synthesize findings
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify disparities and mitigants
  • Prepare financial modeling inputs and understand model mechanics
  • Analyze structuring options considering collateral and borrower valuation
  • Write credit approval documents and contribute to deal review and pipeline meetings
  • Coordinate closing process requirements
  • Shadow senior underwriters on legal documentation negotiations
  • Prepare term sheets, commitment letters, and fee letters with guidance
  • Own a portfolio of existing customers with minimal guidance
  • Complete annual reviews and material/non-material modifications independently
  • Monitor risk ratings and determine upgrades/downgrades
  • Ensure compliance with credit policies for existing accounts
  • Respond to requests from internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate, timely portfolio data for reporting
  • Escalate and resolve problem accounts with other teams
  • Build cross-functional relationships to foster collaboration
  • Mentor rotational analysts and new hires
  • Participate in internal initiatives for efficient operations

Key requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in credit underwriting, portfolio management or commercial real estate
