In this role you lead daily Air Freight Gateway operations to ensure on-time, compliant, and cost-effective import/export shipments. You will mentor the gateway team, establish standardized procedures, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver end-to-end logistics solutions. You’ll focus on improving KPIs, service quality, and profitability while navigating regulatory requirements and complex stakeholder relationships. This is a hands-on leadership role shaped by a global logistics context and a drive for operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily gateway operations for import/export airfreight
Build and mentor a high‑performing gateway team
Establish and maintain SOPs aligned with global best practices
Ensure compliance with aviation, customs, security, and regulatory requirements
Develop relationships with airlines, trucking providers, customs authorities, and logistics partners
Monitor KPIs, productivity, service performance, and financial results; drive efficiency and cost control
Lead resolution of operational challenges, escalations, and service disruptions while maintaining customer satisfaction
Collaborate with Procurement, Product, Sales, Branch Operations, and overseas offices to support network development
Identify opportunities to improve processes, system utilization, visibility, and service performance
Partner with regional leadership on strategic initiatives, gateway expansion, and new trade lanes

Key requirements

5+ years in air freight operations with gateway, imports and exports experience
3+ years of leadership experience in freight forwarding/logistics
Strong understanding of airline operations, cargo handling, and international transport processes
Proven ability to lead teams, drive performance, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strong commercial mindset balancing customer service with operational and financial performance
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and freight forwarding operating systems
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field (asset)
Air Cargo Security certification and ULD build-up knowledge (asset)
Fluent in English and Spanish
Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends
