In this role you help shift toward a composable, agent-native search foundation that powers access to enterprise data. You own the infrastructural substrate for an agentic search platform, enabling reliable retrieval, ranking, and reasoning at scale. You will design and operate hybrid indexing and multi-modal data pipelines, shaping a production-grade search experience across diverse data. This role offers impact through building scalable, observable systems with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Own and operate the end-to-end search infrastructure, including index engine, ingestion/enrichment pipeline, and entity/identity framing
Ensure index-time enrichments align with query-time expectations to support reliable retrieval and reasoning
Develop and run high-throughput ingestion/enrichment pipelines for a multi-representation, permission-aware corpus
Build multi-modal indexing to handle text, tables, diagrams, images, audio, and video with a unified retrieval surface
Contribute to a knowledge graph linking entities across enterprise data sources (tickets, files, people)
Improve performance, scalability, and observability (latency, throughput, cluster health) and apply techniques like vector quantization to balance quality and cost
Drive end-to-end search ownership from design to rollout and operations, shaping the roadmap for future agents/primitives/recipes
Ensure reliability and operability via index lifecycle policies, capacity planning, and scalable cluster strategies
Collaborate closely with Search Ranking, ML, and Platform engineering teams to deliver production-grade agentic search capabilities

Key requirements

BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent engineering background; PhD a plus
1+ years of full-time industry experience
Hands-on experience with search technologies; proficiency in Lucene, Solr, Elasticsearch, or OpenSearch required
Additional experience with vector databases is advantageous
Comfort with in-person, on-site team collaboration
