As an Advanced Technology Architect in our Women's Health Ultrasound segment, you guide the design and integration of next‑gen imaging systems on Voluson scanners. You lead cross‑functional R&D to translate clinical insights into impactful software and hardware solutions, shaping B‑Mode and flow imaging with a strong research connection. You drive architecture, image quality strategy, and risk management while mentoring experts in a fast‑paced, innovation‑driven environment. This role offers meaningful work at the intersection of clinical impact and cutting‑edge ultrasound technology.

Responsibilities
- Lead early-stage product development including feasibility studies, simulations, and algorithm design for tissue imaging (B‑Mode, M‑Mode) and flow measurement (PW, CFM, PD, Vector Doppler, Microvascular)
- Mentor a team of specialists and raise engineering excellence across the organization
- Define technical direction for imaging and flow pipelines from data to display, owning architecture and performance targets across releases
- Collaborate with systems engineering, clinical product management, and external R&D teams
- Guide architecture and specifications for next‑generation ultrasound systems; assess research relevance and feasibility
- Generate patents and evaluate third‑party technologies; steer make/buy decisions and partnerships
Key requirements
- Advanced degree in electrical engineering or related field; PhD preferred in medical ultrasound imaging
- Extensive experience in ultrasound beamforming, B‑mode processing, and flow modes (PW, CFM, PD, Vector Doppler, Microvascular)
- Production‑grade C++ and GPU programming (CUDA/OpenCL/DirectX); MATLAB/Python for prototyping
- Proven track record leading complex real‑time systems (architecture ownership, performance optimization)
- Experience with medical‑device QMS (design controls, verification/validation, documentation)
- Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills
