In this role you lead a team managing day-to-day marketing and advertising programs for a client portfolio. You shape strategy, oversee development and execution of initiatives, and counsel senior clients to ensure performance. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive growth and maintain strong agency-client relationships. You will present plans and leverage agency resources to expand the client’s business. This is a hands-on, people-led position focused on delivering high-quality, timely results.
Responsibilities
- Oversee client relations and monitor strategy metrics to ensure success
- Develop strong client relationships and manage regular communications to meet expectations
- Anticipate client needs and guide the agency to lead rather than follow
- Counsel senior clients on potential changes and keep management informed
- Direct and coach account managers in merchandising, marketing, and advertising efforts
- Create business-building plans using agency resources and attend monthly meetings
- Prepare and present national creative, media plans, promotions, strategies, and materials
- Establish competitive reporting for client review (sales, share, SOV)
Key requirements
- Bachelor in Marketing, Advertising, Communications
- 5+ years as Account Director or Account Supervisor in a full-service agency
- Understanding of the overall media environment and client industry
- Strong account management background with team supervision
- Proven leadership and disciplined team leadership
- Experience identifying superior business-building opportunities
- Strong sense of urgency and commitment to high-quality, timely work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
