Position Purpose:

The Director, HRBP of Supply Chain & Merchandising will provide strategic HR support and internal consulting to Petco's distribution centers and merchandising organizations across the United States. This leadership role will provide HR business partnership to the VP of Supply Chain and the Co-Chief Merchandising Officers. This role will lead a team of disbursed HR partners and be responsible for the development of the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the business strategy development and key business decisions by proactively aligning all aspects of the workforce to business strategies and operations.

  • Design, recommend and facilitate implementation of organizational changes to help support the Supply Chain's business strategy and organizational effectiveness.

  • Evaluate the climate of the organization in the distribution centers and devise plans to increase engagement, ensure positive partner relations, and decrease attrition.

  • Lead the implementation of cultural changes/talent initiatives the HR function is activating with effective change management strategies.

  • Partner with the HR COE leaders to implement best in class HR strategies across the Supply Chain and Merchandising organizations.

  • Identify & implement needed HR programs; facilitate cross-functional teams of partners to gain stakeholder buy-in, & organizational readiness that results in program adherence.

  • Lead a culture of wellness and positive partner relations by continuing to educate and train leaders on world class leadership philosophies.

  • Reinforce a performance management strategy that provides clarity of direction, reliable measurement and clear feedback, drives accountability, focuses on coaching/development, and is underpinned by Petco's core values and competencies.

  • Collaborate with Corporate HR Leaders, Managers, and Petco Partners to enhance partner engagement, increase productivity and retention all with a lens toward supporting a diverse and inclusive culture.

  • Contribute to the development of talent acquisition strategies as well as Partner development strategies.

  • Think big, use analytics to guide work, be comfortable challenging convention, and in some cases, reinvent how work is done.

Manage and enhance the delivery of cyclical HR-related programs to help ensure consistency across the HR function and overall enterprise.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business or Human Resources.

  • Minimum ten years' progressive Human Resource generalist experience required.

  • 5 years' HR experience in manufacturing supply chain roles or retail distribution center roles.

  • Experience with union avoidance & positive partner relations strategies a must.

Desired Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Human resources or MBA, or HR certification desired.

  • Exposure to best-in-class HR philosophies and processes.

  • Strategic thinker with experience in execution of complex, multi-functional projects and programs.

  • Strong business acumen and commercial focus, capable of connecting business goals to people management practices in order to drive the most impactful people-related investments.

  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization through clear, informed and logical business justification and discussion.

  • Strongly analytical, process-oriented, visionary HR professional with expertise across the full spectrum of HR and the humility and ability to regularly pivot from strategic to operational.

  • Excellent project management skills including successful leadership of projects from planning phase through completion.

  • Excellent leadership skills including superb communication with all levels of partners, delivery of results, consultative, facilitation and team building skills to ensure leadership and management effectiveness and development.

  • Ability to balance the needs of the business with strong partner advocacy to drive a highly engaged workforce that will show up motivated to do their best every day.
