The Associate Chief Operating Officer in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine will oversee the research and academic mission of the Department and ensure the soundness of its financial operations through the supervision of the Pathology Business Office, Faculty Affairs, and the Finance and Business Offices. He or she will also be responsible for ensuring alignment across the Department for keys areas as identified by leadership in research administration, faculty recruitment and other quality initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer with an indirect reporting line to the Chair of the Department, the incumbent will work very closely with various key administrative leadership and stakeholders across the Department and the overall institution (Division Directors and Directors Round Table, School of Medicine administration, faculty recruitment and retention, etc.). The Associate Chief Operating Officer will have four direct reports: the Director of Business Operations, the Director of Finance, the Research Director of Fiscal Operations, and the Faculty Affairs Coordinator.
