Job Description Summary:
POSITION: 1 – Senior Transmission Outage Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Bulk Power Systems
LOCATION: Dorchester, MA
REMARKS:
This position is responsible for performing reliability analysis and scheduling of transmission system element outages as well as for operating support and maintenance of SCADA/EMS displays, contingency definitions and other tasks as assigned. This position is also responsible for coordinating transmission outage applications with ISO-NE.
Uses and maintains complex computer simulation software utilized for analyses in support of system adequacy evaluations, technical analysis of system reliability during equipment outages and monitoring/evaluating the reliability of the electric system on a real time basis. Assumes the responsibilities of Supervisor, Transmission System during high volume work periods or emergency conditions.
Performs the duties of a Transmission Outage Coordinator, as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Technical Knowledge/Skill: Requires a demonstrated skill in power systems analysis; technical understanding of the parameters and functions of the operation of the power delivery system and of power system theory; and in working with advanced electric system modeling software, such as State Estimator and Loadflow applications and/or knowledge of utility transmission system design, operations, maintenance, and construction principles and practices, safety standards and business processes. Requires the ability to use Energy Management System software, such as Loadflow, State Estimator and Contingency Analysis. Also requires the ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel).
Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline plus five (5) years of experience in Dispatch, Transmission, Distribution, Generation and/or Field Service design and/or installation, servicing customers, supervising employees and change management to improve service/performance; OR Associate's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline plus seven (7) years of experience in Dispatch, Transmission, Distribution, Generation and/or Field Service design and/or installation, servicing customers, supervising employees and change management to improve service/performance; OR Minimum of nine (9) years in Dispatch, Transmission, Distribution, Generation and/or Field Service design and/or installation, servicing customers, supervising employees and change management to improve service/performance.
Licenses & Certifications: Requires NERC Certification
