Position: Supply Chain Manager
Location: Kent, OH
Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 + 10% Bonus + Excellent Benefits + Paid Relocation
This is a division of a 8B dollar public company in the aerospace industry. They offer career growth, 4 weeks PTO, good benefits and a great working environment.The Supply Chain Manager leads the day-to-day activities as well as long-term planning of the Procurement and Materials functions, including supplier management, sourcing, purchasing, inventory management, and warehousing to ensure efficient and effective utilization of financial, human and other resources; cost-effective acquisition and on-time delivery of quality materials, products, and services; achievement of productivity (cost savings) and supply chain risk mitigation objectives.
This position supports an affiliated remote business unit as a subjectmatter expert as requested, and plays a key role in customer satisfaction and achievement of financial goals.
This position participates in all facets of the essential responsibilities noted below, including day-to-day, hands-on activities coupled with short, medium and long-range planning.Demonstrates organizational values and shares the organizational commitment to ensuring quality products and processes.
Develops, implements, and monitors policies, procedures and practices to ensure ethical performance of, and regulatory compliance within, all areas of responsibility including functions performed by direct and indirect reports.
Provides leadership, support, and development of employees within Supply Chain.
Develops supply chains (including sourcing); identifies, qualifies, and recommends suppliers, including new supplier evaluation and approval, and effectively integrates suppliers into the organization’s supply chain.
Negotiates and executes supply and/or service agreements to meet customer and internal specifications as well as achieve planned productivity.
Develops and manages relationships with domestic and international suppliers to ensure effectiveness in Quality, Delivery, Cost and Partnership elements. Collaborates with internal, customer, and supplier Quality and Engineering personnel to achieve material, product, and service quality throughout the supply chain by ensuring required specifications are met on a consistent basis.
Mitigates supply chain risk by eliminating single and sole source suppliers where possible; managing the impact of multi-tier suppliers; evaluating supplier financial, operational and other criteria; understanding and leveraging market conditions for materials, etc. to ensure an uninterrupted supply chain. Evaluates Procurement, Outside Processing, Inventory Management, Warehousing, and related processes for continuous improvement opportunities and leads and/or sponsors initiatives to improve effectiveness using lean principles.
Partners with Business Unit and functional leadership through early involvement in the new product development stage gate process.
Responsible for the creation of and performance to the annual inventory and material savings plans; drives improvement of inventory accuracy, accessibility, and transparency across the organization.
Travels domestically and internationally approximately 10-20% to meet the demands of this position.
Participates in other projects and activities as requested to support business goals.
Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain, Business or related discipline.MBA is a plus.
APICS CSCP, CPIM, CFPIM or other related certification strongly preferred.
10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain.
5+ years in management of a supply chain function that includes procurement, inventory management, and warehousing with strong interaction with distribution, production planning and scheduling.
10+ years of experience in a complex process flow manufacturing environment, preferably with a high mix, low volume, custom order.
5+ years of experience leading, managing, and developing a high performance team in a multi-site environment.
3-5 years of experience in initiating and implementing change initiatives.
Strong organization, project management, change management, and influencing skills.
Skilled at negotiating and executing contracts and supply agreements.
Solid leadership and interpersonal skills to manage direct and indirect reports and build relationships, both internally and externally with large suppliers and customers.
Proven domestic and international supplier development and management capabilities, including sourcing, outside processing, and multi-tier supplier management.
Strong ERP knowledge (Syteline preferred).
Process and continuous-improvement oriented with ability to identify, develop, and implement policies and procedures.
Ability to easily navigate between hands-on (tactical) and strategic functions; bias for action.
